Making Connections - Roles of Design

Design is now widely recognised as a driver of social innovation.Design is not concerned merely with products, systems, and services but also experiences, spaces and thinking. The implications of design are social, cultural and environmental. Designers must be at once careful and radical. Without radical change we are lost, but today’s solution is often tomorrow’s undreamed chaos. Design must acknowledge and embrace complexity in order to inform science, technology and engineering. What then are the new roles for design.
