The Marketing Department at Northumbria University are looking to hire a number of roles across both the undergraduate and postgraduate marketing teams. The full job description, person specification and application forms can be found below.

Digital Content Creators

A unique opportunity to work with the marketing department on producing digital marketing content, including videography, photography and blog posts.

Student Event Representative

Our Event Reps have a vital role in supporting the delivery of our on-campus recruitment events throughout the year. You are in the best position to show prospective students and their families just why Northumbria is so great, positively promoting the student experience to potential students.

Job Title: Events Student Representative

Hourly: From £8.53

Job Purpose: To provide a high quality of customer service support at on-campus undergraduate student recruitment events, including Open Days, NU Experience Days and Confirmation and Clearing. To act as a point of contact for potential students at these events and to positively influence them to apply to Northumbria University, as well as offering additional support to the Events team where necessary.

Responsible to: UG Events Administrator/ PG Marketing Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate Events teams in delivering a programme of on-campus undergraduate recruitment events.
  • Be an ambassador of Northumbria University and positively promote the University.
  • Work alongside academics to engage with prospective students about your course and experiences at Northumbria.
  • To manage time effectively whilst balancing studies.
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude while undertaking a variety of roles across the events.

Location: City Campus & Coach Lane Campus

Attendance Requirements: A mandatory training session must be attended before shifts can be allocate

Undergraduate Outreach Representative

Outreach Representatives will act as an ambassador for undergraduate study at Northumbria University, inspiring and encouraging high school and college students to apply and study at Northumbria.

You will act as a point of contact and an advocate on and off campus, and at various pop-up events. You will be positive and enthusiastic about Higher Education, in particular promoting the excellence of Northumbria University and relating this to your own Higher Education experience.

Postgraduate Outreach Representative

A unique opportunity to work with the University’s Postgraduate Marketing Team. You will act as an ambassador for postgraduate study at Northumbria University, inspiring and encouraging current undergraduate students and other prospective postgraduate students to apply to study at Northumbria.

 You will act as a point of contact and an advocate on campus, leading a range of pop-up events, both in lectures and central student spaces. You will be positive and enthusiastic about Higher Education, in particular promoting the excellence of Northumbria and relating this to your own personal Higher Education journey.

If you think you’ve got the skills and a desire to work in a marketing environment, or have a passion and commitment for postgraduate study at Northumbria, we want to hear from you. Hourly rate is £8.53 or £9.10 (for over 25s). Office hours will be negotiable around your timetable but a commitment of 10-15 hours per month over the next ten months is anticipated.

Please note that shortlisted applicants will be invited to give a small presentation on Thursday 10th October and successful applicants are expected to attend a mandatory training session on Saturday 19th October.

NECOP Mentors

NECOP Mentors will act as ambassadors for Higher Education study generally within the North East, working to inspire and inform high school students about the opportunities to study beyond school and how this could help with their career aspirations.

You will deliver a mentoring and engagement programme with partnered NECOP schools for students in Years 9-13, working with small groups of students and all resources and content will be provided. There are also opportunities to support on campus and also regional events and challenges!
