Web development is one of the fastest growing job sectors in the North East and beyond, and demand is strong for people with coding skills.

The boot camp is the first of its kind in the North East and has been designed to meet the needs of industry, to provide you with the skills you need to develop websites.

With coding becoming the language of the digital age, this boot camp will develop software skills and give you the opportunity to build a portfolio of work for your future. You will be immersed in website development, learning how to build responsive web sites using HTML5 and CSS that work at different screen sizes and you will explore adding interactively to them using the PHP language.

Whatever your academic or career background, this intensive course will help you develop your coding craft and develop valuable skills for the digital sector.

We believe that you learn best through practical application so, as much as we can, the curriculum is based around tackling problems. You will be taught through a mixture of ‘lectorials’, workshops, exercises and projects

At the end of the course, you will have a website portfolio you will be able to share with potential future employers.

Throughout your course you’ll have access to the University’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the latest industry-standard software.

You’ll also have access to dedicated computing areas, which can be used during free periods and into the evenings and weekends.

Students can use the University’s award-winning library 24/7 during term time. The library achieved the second highest score in the UK in the Times Higher Education Student Satisfaction Survey 2015.

This research will facilitate your development as a more independent learner and thinker.

The boot camp focuses on developing essential website development skills.

As well as the skills to start developing a website for your own business or hobby.
