About this course

If you enjoy playing computer games and would like to turn this passion into a career then this could be the degree for you. Game designers and producers are the architects of the computer game industry. They have creative control and work with programmers and artists to create a playable game.

We have links with Ubisoft, Eutechnyx, Pitbull and CCP

The great strength of our course is its direct link to the games industry. The syllabus is designed in consultation with some of the UK’s largest games studios. They work closely with us to create the kind of graduates they want to employ. Our lecturers are highly qualified and we employ expert professionals from games studios to share real insight from industry. This means that you will learn from the likes of Ubisoft, Eutechnyx, Pitbull, and CCP. You will get the opportunity to visit high-profile North East games studios as well as the chance to attend conferences including Eurogamer and Gamehorizon. 

This is a career-focused course which concentrates on hands-on skills, with the opportunity to work on cross- disciplinary games development projects. You will have access to our console development kits and our extensive games library to best prepare you for your career. Graduates go on to a diverse range of roles in the computer games industry.
