Northumbria’s BCS-accredited MSc has been designed in consultation with partners including Accenture and Hewlett-Packard, ensuring you learn the most up-to-date computing knowledge required by employers across the industry. We offer research-informed teaching, industry-standard software and a strong community of like-minded students.

You will cover programming in Java, web development, database modelling, systems analysis and design with UML, and computer networks, whilst also gaining transferable skills in project management and research. You will work in groups as well as individually to complete practical tasks based on real-life situations and following standard professional practice, support will be given by tutors in lectures, seminars and on your final dissertation by one-to-one tutorials. Your dissertation or major project will allow you to specialise in an area of interest.

On graduation you will be perfectly placed to achieve a job you love, equipped with the technical skills and strategic approaches that will enable you to thrive in the workplace.


This course fully meets the educational requirements for BCS Chartered IT Professional registration.
