BA and Forpeople

Due to a unique collaboration with British Airways (BA) and their lead design agency Forpeople, our third year design students from Design for Industry and Transportation Design, as well as students from the Multidisciplinary Design Innovation course were asked by BA to work together in multi-disciplinary teams to develop concepts for future travel on board their aircrafts.

Design agency forpeople have helped BA to transform their brand by ensuring design comes first in business. forpeople have worked together with British Airways’ in-house design experts on every aspect of the new First experience. Since 2005, they have been responsible for the overall creative direction of First including all aspects of the brand, product and service elements. forpeople are now retained by the airline as Global lead design agency.

The ten week project involved on-site visits to BA’s headquarters near Heathrow and culminated in presenting to senior executives of the business at Waterside. From this, one project was selected as the winner, and the team were each awarded a long-haul worldwide flight to their chosen destination as a prize.
