Ellen MacArthur Foundation

NU School of Design led the university’s participation in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Disruptive Innovation Festival. Amongst a series of activities showcasing Northumbria’s work in Responsible Innovation undertaken during the festival, Two groups of students studying Industrial Design and Entrepreneurial Business Management and totalling around 100 joined forces to explore the challenges represented by ‘branded litter’. Over the course of two separate days they worked in small teams to design and present product/system/service solutions to the problems that the greatest litter producing brands suffer. At the end of the second day they presented video campaigns to promote their idea.
