Postgraduate Certificate in Employment Law in Practice (60 credits)

Three compulsory modules make up the Postgraduate Certificate:

  • Legal Research and Study Skills
  • The Employment Relationship
  • Terminating the Employment Relationship

Postgraduate Diploma in Employment Law in Practice (60 credits)

Two compulsory and one optional module make up the Postgraduate Diploma:

Term 1

  • Restructuring the Employment Relationship

Term 2

  • Managing Equality and Diversity in an Employment Context

Term 3

  • Employment Tribunals Practice & Procedure or
  • Information Rights and Employment Law

Although every effort is made to ensure that these modules run in the order set out above, there may be occasions, for example due to staff sabbaticals, where a module may not be offered or module running order may change.

The Project

In order to obtain a Masters degree (LLM), students must complete an additional research project of between 15,000 and 17,000 words. Students will initially submit a project proposal outlining their chosen research topic. Students are given a wide degree of flexibility as to the area of employment law in which they undertake their research.
