Are you interested in how films and television shows are made? Or how they are meaningful to audiences? Or why some are considered to be works of art?

Discover the theory and aesthetics of cinema and television with Northumbria’s Film and Television degree and put your knowledge into practice by developing your own short films.

With the help of media industry professionals and renowned academics, such as horror expert Peter Hutchings, you will explore the historical and social context of cinema and television – further developing your skills of analysis and reflection. You can also choose to be trained in media production, gaining access to industry-standard media facilities including broadcast-quality camera equipment, AVID edit suites and screening rooms.
