About this course 2015/16

Have you ever wondered how stock markets work and fortunes are made and lost? Do you want to have a better understanding of global economies and cyclical trends?

This course teaches you about the major elements of financial services. Using our exclusive Bloomberg suite of financial terminals, you will examine real and current market developments and enhance your skills to understand and evaluate factors shaping the modern financial services world.

An optional placement year will see you working for organisations such as the Bank of England, IBM, RBS and Intel. Placements enable you to put theory into practice which can significantly help your final year performance and future career prospects. In 2013 95% of our students were in work or further study within six months of graduating (Unistats).

A career in finance can be fascinating and wide-ranging. After graduating you will be equipped to handle such areas as financial markets, investment, banking and business finance. Recent graduates have gone on to work for organisations such as Bloomberg, Deloitte and Brewin Dolphin.
