Collaborative Projects with Industry

Industry projects our Interactive Media Design students have been involved in.

The Interactive Media Design degree attracts great interest from national design agencies and international technology companies to local businesses and regional organisations, which all want to work with our students on collaborative digital design projects. We have an enviable list of recent collaborations with multi-award winning agencies Agency Republic and R/GA, Orange Telecommunications, Intel, Microsoft and more regionally based organisations like Newcastle City Council, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, The Oswin Project and Visit Kielder.

Some of these projects are highly imaginative ‘blue sky’ visions of future e.g. our work with Orange or Microsoft. Others are much more grounded in current design practice e.g. app design concepts with leading digital agency R/GA or have immediate real world needs such as branding and website design for local charity Oswin Project.

We seek our collaborative opportunities for students on all three years of our degree programme because we see the benefits in terms of increasing your confidence, professionalism, work experience and creativity in meeting an external brief.

The case studies below will give you just a small glimpse of our recent collaborative work and give you an idea of the projects you could be working on during your studies:
