What will I learn on this module?

The module encourages you to employ experimental and imaginative approaches to concept, process and final realisation of their projects – skills essential to the creation of digital artworks and to the creative industries in general. It also provides you with a greater awareness of the creative context in which to locate their work. You will produce a transmedia narrative working across multiple platforms and formats, including but not limited to video, sound, music, animation, and photography.

How will I learn on this module?

The module consists of a number of teaching and learning activities. Firstly, the analysis of existing time-based projects provides you with an awareness of the context in which you are working. Secondly, through participation in a series of practical workshops, you will explore the various creative approaches and technical skills necessary for the production of time-based media. Finally through self-directed practice-based study, you will create your own time-based digital artwork. This is supported throughout by one-to-one tutorial sessions offering guidance and feedback in terms of your creative approach.

What will I be expected to achieve?

Knowledge & Understanding:
• Acquire and develop communication skills relevant to the brief.
• Develop practical skills using Software solutions such as Ableton Live and Adobe premiere
• Build on research skills
Intellectual / Professional skills & abilities:
• Go through few iterations of a design, develop, demonstrate cycle
Personal Values Attributes (Global / Cultural awareness, Ethics, Curiosity) (PVA):
• Develop personal Innovation, Curiosity & resourcefulness.

How will I be assessed?

The marking criteria are as follow
1. That you have produced a high quality video which communicates your message clearly to your intended target market.
2. You have documented your process research and findings well in the pdf design document
3. That you have been able to establish an empathetic connection with your chosen audience by relying on your promotional material
