About this course

This LLM course can open a wealth of opportunities to graduates and professionals from a range of backgrounds. International Trade Law follows a commercial transaction from A to Z and thus focuses primarily on international sale contracts, carriage of goods and international dispute resolution.

Optional modules cover areas such as international finance, intellectual property, international energy law and transnational competition law. You will gain specialist legal knowledge within a practical context whilst developing expertise in chosen areas and enhancing your research skills.

The course builds upon your experience - whether gained through undergraduate study, employment or legal practice - and offers a range of practical benefits including:

  • Greater awareness of legal commercial issues
  • The ability to apply specialist legal knowledge to practical problems
  • The acquisition of expertise in new specialist areas
  • The ability to critically evaluate legal issues
  • Enhanced research and presentation skills

The course is delivered through a series of core and optional modules which run sequentially and are each assessed by a 3,000-word coursework.  For the award of LLM, you will also need to complete a 15,000-17,000-word project. There are no exams.

The course is accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by the Law Society of England and Wales and the General Council of the Bar of England and Wales.
