BJTC-logo -outlineWant a career in TV, radio, online or print journalism? This degree will introduce you to all aspects of the media – from local, regional and national press to TV and radio broadcasts.

The course has been designed to ensure you gain extensive hands-on experience in a variety of journalistic practices to allow you to build an impressive portfolio of professionally published work.

You will learn through a variety of lectures, seminars and practical workshops, with the added opportunity to undertake a four-week placement in your third year.

Your study will also be fully supported by links with well-known companies in the industry such as the BBC, Tyne Tees TV, ITV, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Real FM, and many more.

This course is taught by staff with a wealth of industry experience and is fully accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) for TV, radio, online and print journalism – an important benchmark for journalism education. Recent graduates are working for high profile organisations including GQ, Mirror, Frank Public Relations, Sunday Sun, Metro Radio and Sunderland AFC.

The Royal Television Society runs an annual bursary scheme for new students providing £1,000 a year to support living expenses, membership of the Royal Television Society and affiliate membership of the Hospital Club. For more information, visit:
