Are you fascinated by technological advancements and media, and the daily impact of new forms of media on our lives?

This course will give you a critical understanding of the key developments within mass communication approaches including global media, new media and technology, audience research, production techniques and reporting and advertising.

Taught by experienced academic and industry staff, you will be engaged in a range of stimulating and contemporary debates that explore the global influence of the mass communication industries and how we relate to them.

You will explore the impact of digital technologies such as video games, social media networks and convergent mobile technology, business journalism and its techniques, advertising, and key mass communication approaches.

The first two years of the course will follow a core programme of study, whether you have chosen to study mass communication as a single subject or combined with advertising, business or public relations.

In your third year you will specialise by undertaking specific modules and completing a major project or dissertation applicable to your chosen area.

On graduating you will be well suited for employment across a wide range of media professions including careers in the creative and cultural industries, marketing, journalism, management, public relations and press offices.
