If you are analytical and creative, interested in design, technology, construction and management and want to help develop sustainable, cost effective solutions and products, this BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering will equip you with the practical skills and expertise required for a career in mechanical engineering.

95% in work or further study within six months of graduating (Unistats 2014)

You will learn in dedicated engineering laboratories that are continuously updated to reflect real-time industry practice, including 3D Digital Design, Product Performance Analysis and Rapid Prototyping.

Enhancing your employment prospects and developing links with industry are important aspects of the Mechanical Engineering course. You will be encouraged to undertake a one-year work placement and there are field trips to companies such as British Engines, Siemens Power and EDF Energy to help you gain a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering in practice. You will get the opportunity to work on industrial funded projects with companies such as Nissan, TT Electronics and Tharsus.

95% of graduates are in work or further study within six months of graduating from our Mechanical Engineering degree (Unistats 2013) and have gained roles within the automotive, aeronautical, robotics, construction, software, manufacturing, semiconductor and building services sectors.

The delivery of this programme in the UK is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.
