A Northumbria Performance degree can take you to many places. Our students have won awards in Croatia, our academics have toured their work to Mumbai, and our graduates count the Sydney Opera House among their extensive credits.

And it’s not just performers we produce. If you are a strong communicator with a desire to shine and the drive to succeed, you could find yourself running the next award- winning theatre company or teaching the next generation of performance students.

This course will open up opportunities in all aspects of the cultural sector – from performing and directing to stage management and arts marketing. And our partnerships with internationally-recognised theatre companies will give you a visible platform to showcase your talent to industry professionals.

We place a strong emphasis on ensemble working which makes your university experience a fun and friendly one. Together, you will explore practical modules including performance technique and the physical actor, alongside subjects that will develop your industry awareness, including arts and entrepreneurship. These are underpinned by critical skills development as you reflect on a broad range of texts and performances.

The course will culminate in a substantial production project celebrating your finely-honed craft.
