Your Guide To Enrolment

Before you can begin your studies at Northumbria you must enrol as a student with us, this is quick and easy online process.

To enrol you need to log into the
Student Portal, click on the Enrol link on the left-hand side and follow the onscreen instructions.  You will need your username and password which will have already been sent to you.  When you have completed the enrolment process successfully you will receive a confirmation email to your University email account.

New International student; You will need to upload a scan/image of the photo page of your passport and of your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) should you have collected this from the Post Office.  Please also upload an image of your 90 day transit visa. You will be able to revisit the upload task to add further documentation once you arrive. If you have opted for BRP delivery to the University, rather than a Post Office, this cannot be collected in person.  Your BRP will only be issued to you by the Visa Compliance Team and they will contact you. Please ensure you add an accurate UK address as part of the enrolment task. Once your visa is verified you will be notified and this completes the enrolment process.  

In line with the University’s enrolment policy, in exceptional cases students may enrol after our published enrolment deadlines according to the following protocols:

  • Undergraduate students up to 3 weeks after the published start date of the programme.
  • Postgraduate taught and research students up to 4 weeks after the published start date of the programme.
  • Distance Learning students may not be permitted to enrol late.
