Thinking of Appealing Your Results?

Northumbria University is currently reviewing the recently provided government advice.

We will be updating information for students and applicants on our website as soon as possible.

Appeals

If you feel that there has been an error in the calculation of your grades, and you wish to appeal the grade you have been awarded, you need to contact your school, college or exam centre to do so. Please note that appeals this year can only be lodged via schools, colleges or exam centres, and cannot be lodged by individuals.

Universities are only able to make decisions based on the information we have been provided by with the exam boards. If you do lodge an appeal via your school, college or exam centre and are successful in altering your calculated grade to meet your Northumbria Offer, we will be happy to admit you to your course should we receive the outcome of the appeal by September 7th.

If you have not met the conditions of your firm choice at Northumbria we may offer you the option of a four year route which would be your original course plus a one year preparatory foundation year. If you are requesting an appeal of your grades we would encourage you to accept the foundation year offer at Northumbria to secure your place. Should your appeal be successful and you meet the terms of your original offer, we will move you on to your Bachelors programme (three year route). Should your appeal request be unsuccessful, you will have a place secured on the four year route which you can then choose to take forward or withdraw from.

Autumn Exam series

If you are resitting your A Levels, there is a full autumn exam series which you can access via your school, college or exam centre. For further information about the autumn exams, including a helpline for advice and guidance, please view the government advice here : https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/907493/Student_Guide_Summer_2020_6.8.2020_12.30.pdf

If you decide to sit an exam in the autumn and receive grades that meets your Northumbria offer for September 2021, we cannot accept you for study during the 2021/22 academic year. This is because we do not have January starts available for the majority of Undergraduate programmes.

Please note : If you have a conditional offer, you would need to reapply for Northumbria in the next application cycle.
