Why choose an Integrated Masters?

Fast-track your professional career

Int _mas3For most STEM professions, studying an accredited Integrated Masters degree is the most direct way to gain chartered/professional status. Integrated Masters fulfil all the educational requirements to attain chartered status, as well as providing you with the knowledge and advanced technical skills you’ll need to get a job and complete the work experience required to become fully chartered*.

HESA data shows that those studying an Integrated Masters course were more likely than Bachelors graduates to be in full-time work or study after six months (Times Higher Education 2014).

Recognised in industry as more prestigious than a typical Bachelor’s degree

Int _mas4An Integrated Masters will equip you with deep subject knowledge, applied in a real world context. You will also develop an exceptionally strong set of transferable skills including teamwork, problem-solving, research and analysis, which employers value highly. In your final year you will have the opportunity to work closely with our expert academics on a range of cutting-edge research projects, allowing you to gain the specialist skills that set you apart from the rest.

The Institute of Physics (IOP) recognises the Integrated Masters ‘MPhys’ course as having ‘more academic kudos’ than a typical BSc.

Guaranteed funding throughout your study

All four years (or five with placement) of the Integrated Masters degrees are eligible for standard undergraduate funding including fees, loans and bursaries. This leaves you free to enjoy the early years of your degree without wasting time applying for a separate Masters course and worrying about how to pay for it.

*Please see individual course pages for accreditation details.
