Web Design & Development

Web-Design-and-Development_Student_Madalina-JuganariuWhat appealed to you about Northumbria University?

I am originally from Romania. I wanted to come and study in the UK and when I visited Northumbria’s website it looked very professional and it contained all the information I wanted to know about the campus, courses, etc.

How did you feel during your first week at Northumbria?

The first week at Northumbria was very good as it was more of an induction, giving me the opportunity to meet course mates, tutors and get to know the facilities like the library, Sport Central and the campus.

Do you have the opportunity for any work placements?

I do have the opportunity to go on a work placement. It’s a good opportunity to go into industry and actually work for a company, putting into practice what you have learnt so far. If you do a great job during the year the company may employ you after you graduate.

What would you like to do when you graduate?

When I started the course I wanted to work as a web developer for a company or start my own business. Now I am considering teaching and I was given the opportunity to choose a Student Tutoring module. The University has found a school for me to join as a classroom assistant to see whether I will enjoy teaching in the future.
