Medical Sciences Diploma

Why did you choose the Northumbria University and St George’s University International Medical Pathway?

Firstly, the class sizes at Northumbria are much smaller than in Grenada. This means we have a good staff to student ratio and academics are available to answer our questions about the modules; they are very approachable. Secondly, I love the city!Saarah -Thakuur _Medical -Sciences -Diploma _Staffprofile 255

I researched the city and the programme in detail before I started on the course. I read all the polls about how Newcastle has a great reputation for being a student city and there is always something to do.

What is your favourite thing to do in Newcastle?

I love to roam around the city; it is small enough to do this and yet you can find new restaurants and shops all the time. I also really love to go to the beach at Tynemouth, even when the weather is cooler.

Where is your favourite place on campus?

I like the sixth floor of the library as they have a ‘no keyboard’ zone. This is great for me as I like extreme silence when I am working. I also like to go to the café in Northumberland building which has been refurbished over the summer.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to study my residencies in the USA and the Northumbria and SGU pathway enables me to do this. When I qualify I would like to work in the American healthcare system and hope to specialise in surgery.
