An opportunity has arisen for a secondment as Academic Support Manager within Academic Support, Student Library and Academic Services (SLAS).   

You will lead an Academic Support Team and maintain a positive one university culture with a commitment to customer service and continuous improvement. An essential part of the role will be negotiation and problem solving across the University to support strategic priorities. Working with the Registrar and senior members of faculty and services, you will support strategy development, primarily aligned to the Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences providing leadership, also, to the QAHE Pathway partnership and evolving non-apprenticeship Policing programmes. You will be responsible for providing guidance and specialist expertise in Academic Support. You will manage a team and lead activities in that team developing expert knowledge in your area of work. You will work as part of a wider Academic Support Team and collaborative work with other parts of SLAS and the University is expected.

The ability to cultivate excellent working relationships with colleagues across the University and also external stakeholders is an essential part of this role. The capacity to manage innovation and change in the context of the University Strategy and the changing external environment are also critical to success in this role. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with successful experience in stakeholder liaison, managing a team and organising a complex workload.
