The Centre for Health and Social Equity (CHASE) at
Northumbria University focuses on overcoming inequities within our society through
world class research carried out by experts from multiple disciplines and
people from within the communities we serve.
Working
collaboratively across the University, we have developed a three-pillar
framework to achieve our ambitions:
- Addressing the social determinants of health and wellbeing to improve social equity
- Building community capacity and resilience
- Enabling equitable access to health and social care
These pillars align
closely with the priorities of our regional partners, including the NHS, local
authorities, and third sector organisations, positioning us to deliver
meaningful impact through collaborative research and development.
CHASE will partner
with local NHS trusts, local authorities, local government businesses, and NGOs
to support their health and social equity goals through high-quality research
and workforce development and CPD offerings. We will work with public and
private organisations to develop and enhance evidence-based health and social
equity policies and undertake bespoke projects.
