What You Can Find

Planning Tools

Here is the menu of Planning Tools, as getting timely, up-to-date and accurate career information and advice is vital, whether you are deciding what to do, planning your future or are ready to compete in the job market. Your own knowledge may differ on where you can work and what you can do. Knowing about different industries and roles is vital as you can broaden your career opportunities as well as your self-awareness.

Self-assessments

Self-Assessments

These career assessments help you understand how a variety of personal attributes could potentially impact your career. While no assessment can perfectly describe who you are, or what your career should be, they are valuable in helping you consider options you may not have previously considered.

Once you become a Northumbria student, you will be able to access the assessments which take 10-15 minutes each to complete. At the end of each assessment, you can access your personal report, with practical, tailored recommendations on how to apply to the workplace. We encourage you to discuss your results with a Northumbria professional in human resources or career guidance.

Careers Employability Award

Each of these programmes helps you to understand, develop and harness a different set of employability skills and attributes, fully recognising your strengths and achievements in that area, to generate a compelling picture of you as a highly employable candidate.

From understanding yourself better, to preparing for work and planning your career, these programmes take you on a fun, informative, interactive journey that will empower you to take control of your career direction.
