Claim back your travel expenses.

See what makes Northumbria special, with help towards your travel costs.

We understand that choosing which university you want to go to is an important decision, and of course we hope you will choose us!

Before deciding, you want to get a feel for the campus and city as well as talk to current students, academics and support staff, and there is no better way to do this than by coming along to our June Open Days.

Learn more about our courses, visit some of our accommodation, tour the campus and other facilities, as well as talking to current students about why it is so great to study at Northumbria and live in Newcastle.

We understand that traveling to events can be expensive, so we want to make sure you have every opportunity to visit our June Open Days by offering a contribution towards your travel costs. If you live in a low participation neighbourhood* and are travelling from postcodes beginning with NE, SR, DH, DL or TS, you can claim up to the value of £10 towards your travel costs.

* You can check your neighbourhood participation rate by using the Office for Students (OfS) postcode checker (opens in new window). If you identify as POLAR4 and Quintile 1 or 2, you will be eligible to claim support towards your travel to the June Open Days.

To claim your support for travel expenses, please complete this form (downloads as .xlsx file) with the relevant information. Please note, you should not make a claim until after you have attended the Open Day and remember to attach evidence of your travel booking (ticket or receipt) with your claim. Your claim must be received by 5pm on Friday 11th July.

For any additional queries about the Open Days or support for travel expenses, please contact us at ug.events@northumbria.ac.uk.
