This one day session will cover basic introduction to phlebotomy practice for those who have not undertaken this training previously.

A practical skills workshop is included. A competency assessment document is provided for in-house competency assessment post course attendance.

Content will include;

  • legal/professional issues for staff
  • accountability and consent
  • anatomy & physiology of veins
  • phlebotomy sites and equipment
  • preparation of the client
  • sharps disposal
  • risks & hazards of phlebotomy
  • documentation
