Restorative Just Culture - Restorative Conversations
Thursday 26th March 2026 - A further programme will take place on Wednesday 3rd June 2026

Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust are proud to present this one-day virtual programme of Restorative Conversations.

The programme is for anyone engaged in or who needs to develop skills in restorative conversations with colleagues as part of a Restorative Just Learning Culture within the organisation, being particularly aimed at HR colleagues and line managers / team leaders.

Just cultures that are restorative rather than retributive are becoming increasingly recognised for their contribution in dealing with adverse events and significant incidents, managing employee relations, developing high performing teams, increasing psychological safety and civility and respect among staff and enabling the delivery of high quality, safe and continuous care. The relational aspect of Restorative Practice is of significant importance.

On the programme you will:

  • Learn the theory behind restorative just and learning cultures
  • Gain an understanding of the importance of restorative conversations as part of that culture
  • Develop skills and confidence in preparing for and facilitating a restorative conversation
  • Learn how to conduct restorative conversations that aim to heal, restore and repair.
  • Explore the importance of psychological safety in restorative conversations
  • Learn how trauma informed approaches and principles underpin restorative conversations

The one-day programme will be delivered using digital virtual delivery. You will participate in live expert speaker sessions and group sessions to better understand Restorative Just Cultures and Principles.
