Graduate Career Support

As a member of the Northumbria University Alumni Association you can continue to get advice and support from the Careers & Employment Service for three years after you graduate.

The University's careers professionals are available to give confidential support and help you decide, plan and achieve your career goals; come and speak to the team in Student Central on our City Campus to receive 1-1 support at either our 'Careers Guidance' drop-in or 'Careers Information & Job Search' drop-in. The Careers Guidance drop-in is available all summer Monday - Friday from 1pm - 4pm. To sign up just go to the Ask4Help desk to book your appointment.

The Service also offers graduates the facility of searching their online jobs board, JobsOnline, to access opportunities locally, nationally and internationally. Thousands of jobs are advertised every year across a wide range of sectors and once you sign up you just need to set your preferences to receive email alerts of your targeted sector vacancies. JobsOnline is now also a part of NU TARGETconnect and is quicker, easier to use and has new features, for example details of careers events. To access JobsOnline on NU TARGETconnect follow the below steps:

  • If your Northumbria email is still valid you can use the password reset system. Don’t forget you will need to add a personal email account to your profile if you want to continue to use the system when your Northumbria email account is switched off.
  • If your email account is no longer valid sign up online.  Add your student number to the form to help us authorise your account.

As a graduate you can also still attend any of the employer events that take place across the academic year. You also have access to online support to navigate today’s job market with confidence through our employability hub, Careers Online. Hear from employers and what they’re looking for, explore your options and develop the key skills to make you stand out in the recruitment process. To access Careers Online:

You can also discover more online through the Careers & Employment Service's webpages or connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
