British Council launches 2017 Alumni Awards celebrating UK Higher Education and distinguished alumni achievements.

The British Council, in conjunction with Northumbria University, is launching the third year of its Alumni Awards which celebrate outstanding achievements of the UK’s international alumni. Award winners and finalists are leaders in their fields who have used their experience of studying at a UK university to make a positive contribution to their communities, professions and countries. 

The Alumni Awards 2017 will be held in 14 locations: Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. Through entering the competition nominees and award winners have the opportunity to raise their own international profile, expand their professional networks, and enhance their careers.

The Alumni Awards showcases the impact and value of a UK higher education and raises the profile and reputation of UK alumni, their former universities, and the whole of UK education. Legendary shoe designer, Professor Jimmy Choo OBE, is the Global Ambassador of the Alumni Awards. Speaking of his involvement he commented:

"I’m delighted to support the Alumni Awards 2017 as Global Ambassador. Studying in the UK was an experience that changed my life and contributed to my success today. It is an honour to be supporting today’s recent outstanding UK university alumni by sharing their success stories and positive impact on the world."

The Alumni Awards are open to alumni currently residing in any of the 14 participating countries who have studied at Northumbria University within the last 15 years. For more information or to nominate yourself click here.
