Alumni Telethon campaigns raise over £75,000 to support vital projects across campus community

In 2021 and 2022 Northumbria University ran three successful Alumni Telethon campaigns which collectively raised over £75,000 to support those most in need across the University community. Over these three month-long campaigns thousands of alumni from across the country were contacted by a team of current student callers with the aim of raising funds to support the University’s Higher Education Without Barriers campaign.

Northumbria University’s Higher Education Without Barriers campaign provides a range of financial initiatives, mental health and wellbeing services and community-based projects to make participation and progression in higher education more achievable for academically talented students regardless of their social or economic circumstances.

In the video below Student Caller Ahsan Zafeer describes his experiences of working on the call team and the importance of the Higher Education Without Barriers campaign.
