Career Path: CEO of Mount Maison Perfumes
Location: London

I began my career in corporate events and hospitality, most recently working as a Corporate Event Manager at J.P. Morgan in London, where I gained valuable experience in planning, coordination, and client engagement. My professional journey has always been driven by a passion for creating memorable experiences and building strong relationships.

Over time, this passion naturally evolved into a desire to create something of my own. Drawing on my background in international management and my interest in luxury lifestyle products, I founded Mount Maison perfumes, a London based perfume house that blends European elegance with Middle Eastern inspiration. My vision is to craft fragrances that tell a story, much like an event does, leaving a lasting impression.

What are you doing now?

I am currently the Founder and Sales & Marketing Director of Mount Maison, a London-based perfume brand that combines European sophistication with Middle Eastern artistry. My focus is on building the brand, developing unique fragrances, and expanding into international markets.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

I chose Northumbria University for its strong reputation in business and management education, particularly its international focus. The MSc in Business with International Management offered a balance of academic rigor and practical application, which equipped me with the skills and global outlook essential for my career and entrepreneurial journey.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

Studying at Northumbria was a rewarding experience. The programme offered a good balance of lectures, seminars, and team projects, which encouraged both independent learning and collaboration. The diverse student community made discussions engaging, and the feedback from lecturers was constructive and practical, helping me to apply concepts effectively in real world contexts.

How connected was your course with industry?

The course maintained a strong connection with industry through practical case studies, team projects, and opportunities to engage with real business challenges. Guest lectures from industry professionals provided valuable insights into current trends and practices, bridging the gap between academic theory and the workplace.

If you took on a placement during your course how did you feel this helped you in your career/ with your studies?

I did not take a formal placement, but the practical case studies and team projects gave me real-world experience that strengthened my problem-solving skills and prepared me well for my career and business journey.

What was the best thing about your course?

The best aspect of the course was the international environment. Learning alongside students from diverse backgrounds, combined with a practical and collaborative approach to projects, gave me a global perspective that has been invaluable in my career and entrepreneurial journey.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?
