Natalie Burlison - Events Manager
Hey!
I'm Natalie the Events Manager here at Northumbria Uni & I'm responsible for the incredible programme that is Be Part of It. I'm biased as I created the programme, but it really is the most fantastic way to get the most out of your time here at Northumbria.
BPOI gives you the opportunity to try loads of really fun activities at a heavily discounted price. We provide everything for you, so just turn up and give it a go.
With so many activities on the timetable, it's hard to pick a favourite but I love a good work out so you will always catch me at Riot Boxing or Hot Pod Yoga. I'm a gal who loves her grub too so I'd recommend all of our eating activities too.

Amber Riddle - Student Activities Administrator
Hey, I’m Amber!
I love trying new things (especially food!) and meeting new people - that’s why I love events so much!
I have previously worked in a sixth form college and know how important it is for students to feel part of a community while studying. That’s why I love encouraging students to #bepartofit.
I moved to France when I was in school and I know how daunting it may seem to settle in a new town/country so if anyone is needing any tips, my first would be to come along to an event that interests you! We have so many to choose from!
In the meantime, I look forward to planning & attending lots of fun events with you all, please say hi!

Lucas Fendick - Activities Assistant
Hey there, I'm Lucas and I'm an activities assistant with the Be Part Of It programme here at Northumbria University. I'm in my 2nd year studying Games Computing. I'm very interested in all different types of games, whether that be videogames, sports, party games and much more.
I really enjoy being around people and having fun doing stuff that maybe I wouldn't usually try. I went on a large number of activities in my first year with Be Part Of It which I really enjoyed and it made me want to become part of the team to help give other students those same experiences. Out of the activities I have done in the past, the best picks for me were Bubble Football, Go Karting and the Flamingo Land trip. However, there were many more that were great too like the Escape Rooms and Go Ape.
Be Part Of It is a great programme because not only are you doing these activities, but you are getting them at a more than affordable price, especially on a student's budget, and you are doing these activities with people you might have never met before which makes it a great way to meet people and make new friends. I hope to meet you all on some events in the future!

Faine Spracklen - Activities Assistant
HI! I'm Faine and I'm in my 2nd year at Northumbria studying Law and I also work as an activities assistant for Be Part Of It!
Some of the activities I have tried are the LUSH workshops, Pasta Making and Hot Pod Yoga which is a perfect way to unwind from uni. But my favourite events so far have been Go Ape, Cupcake Decorating and Battlekarts.
I love joining events and I am always up for trying new activities and meeting new people so Be Part Of It is perfect for this! I moved to Newcastle for university so I know how hard it can be finding your feet and making friends in a new city but Be Part Of It is a great way to settle in and explore everything Newcastle has to offer! I can't wait to meet you all on our events!

David Thompson - Activities Assistant
Hi, I'm David and I am an activities assistant with Be Part of It, I'm a mature student in my first year of a Guidance and Counselling degree.
I have been on all manner of activities in my first year and especially enjoy craft and food activities, in particular the Big River Bakery and pottery throwing. To be honest, I will try my hand at anything, the best part of the experiences for me is meeting different types of people from all over the world with different aspirations, pursuing different subjects and end goals.
I love music and enjoy playing card and board games as well as tabletop strategy games and gaming on my laptop. Be Part of It is a brilliant way of exploring new interests, activities and places on a budget with like-minded students from all manner of courses.

I’m Holly and I am an activities assistant on the Be Part of It team.I am currently in my second year of university studying business management.
I love being at university because it gives me the opportunity to meet new people and experience different things. In my first year I really enjoyed going on my own to activities and speaking to new people, making friends and having a giggle with then. Some of my favourite activities that I am always speaking about include Glow Kayaking on the Tyne, Chocolate making and Reformer Pilates.
It would be great to see you on some events and I can’t wait to meet you all.

Andreia Campos Prado - Activities Assistant
Hi! I'm Andreia and I'm an activities assistant here at Be Part of It. I'm currently in my 2nd year studying business & marketing.
I took part in many of the BPOI events during my first year at university like reformer Pilates, hot pod yoga and white water tubing and I absolutely loved them, They're a great way to try new things at a cheaper price while also getting to meet a lot of different people from university.
I moved from Spain to England during primary school, so I know it can be a bit intimidating moving to a different city/country for university. However, BPOI is an amazing programme that can help you make new friends that might share similar interests. I can't wait to meet you at our events!

Taylor Joynt - Activities Assistant
Hi, I'm Taylor! I'm a final year fashion communication student and an activities assistant for Be Part of It.
My university experience has been amazing so far, and a big part of that is down to getting stuck in with every opportunity - including attending BPOI events. Some of my favourites have been the city trips and fitness activities like Pilates or riot boxing.
If you're up for trying new things and meeting new people, as I do, then BPOI is the perfect place to start. The heavily discounted prices are great too!
I can't wait to meet you all this year and hope you'll cine away from our events with something valuable - whether it's a new hobby, skill or friendship.

Daniella Norman-Walker - Activities Assistant
Hey, I'm Daniella, an activities assistant for Be Part of It and I'm in my third year at Northumbria studying psychology.
During my first year at university I took part in different BPOI activities such as pottery painting and city trips such as Edinburgh. It was an amazing way to break out of my comfort zone and to meet new people. BPOI is a great way to try new experiences and to make friends along the way. It can be hard to adjust to new surroundings when moving away from home, but BPOI is a perfect way to get comfortable in Newcastle by exploring what's on offer.
I'm excited to meet you all and would love to see you on some events!

I love living in Newcastle, there's so many cool places to go and so many fun activities around the city and I love bringing my friends & family up to Newcastle to show them all the cool places.
