Health and Safety Introduction

Good health and safety management is good business. The University recognises the importance of providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment in which we all teach, study, research and pursue the University’s other business interests. Nothing that we do is so important that it cannot be done safely.

We're proud to have been awarded the ISO45001:2018 Certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management. This globally recognised standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management is the premier accreditation in Health and Safety.

ISO 45001: 2018

This certification further demonstrates our commitment to leading the highest health, safety and wellbeing standards and proactive attitude to identifying and evaluating risks, which provides a safer and healthier working environment for everyone.

The University Health and Safety Team can work with you in the management of risks that your activities create by offering independent expertise, advice and training. The team consists of health and safety professionals specialising in a wide range of skills including fire safety and bio-chemistry.
