Join us for NortHFutures digital health hub event at Northumbria University

We’re hosting this event at Northumbria University to create an invaluable space for the healthcare industry to collaborate, learn, and drive positive change alongside our key research areas.

The aims of the event are to:

  • Share knowledge to increase awareness and understanding of academic research in digital health, share best practices, drive synergy and explore opportunities for future developments.
  • Connect and build partnerships to develop collaborations and accelerate digital health technologies.

The event is designed to inspire fresh thinking, share cutting-edge research, and build collaborators to develop healthcare technologies for the future.

NortHFutures aim to address unmet regional health and care needs and inequalities around the following themes:

• Promoting Health and Nutrition for Children and Young People;

• Developing Digital Surgical Pathways;

• Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing;

• Living and Ageing Well with Multiple Long-term Conditions.

We will showcase our research activities aligned to digital health including projects using data, AI, wearables and robotics.

Key research areas include:

  • Dementia/Aging
  • Food insecurities
  • Long term Health conditions and Mobility
  • Digital exclusion/Accessibility
  • Workforce Development/CPD

Anticipated outcomes: New collaborations to develop project ideas with a view of applying for collaborative research funding.

Healthworks and Gabriel Cucato, Northumbria University have also been supported by NHF through use of Newcastle University’s maker space and technician support.

Paul Court, Healthworks:

“As part of a multidisciplinary research partnership between Healthworks and Dr Gabriel Cucato at Northumbria University, we developed a bespoke prototype to tackle hypertension.

This design and production of the innovative prototype was only made possible through meaningful cross-institution collaboration. We are delighted to recognise the support of Northern Health Futures (NortHFutures) Hub, whose funding and support brought this research to life.

This collaborative partnership exemplifies the NortHFutures mission of bringing people, ideas, and innovation together to shape healthier futures for our region and beyond.”

Event agenda coming soon.
