Please contact us if you have any questions about access or your visit, or have any suggestions or comments relating to access.
We welcome service dogs to the gallery.
Entry to both the Woon Gallery of Asian Art and Gallery North is free. If there is a charge for a special event, this will be clearly listed on the event page.
We have limited spaces for blue badge holders behind the gallery, which can be booked in advance by using this form. We ask if possible to give 2 working days notice as last minute bookings may not always be able to be accommodated.
Unfortunately, we do not have car parking available on site for other users, but we are close to public car parking in Newcastle city centre.
The Gallery is approximately 300m from Haymarket Bus Station and Metro Station.
The University has many bike lock areas on campus, including outside of the gallery. All bikes are left at the owner’s risk.
We have an accessible toilet on the ground floor of the gallery. There are two additional toilets in the Sandyford Building. There are no dedicated changing facilities within the toilets.
No. Due to security and copyright issues, photography is not allowed in the gallery.
If you are a researcher, artist, or student and would like to arrange photography related to your work or studies, this can be arranged by using this form.
We welcome self-guided school visits and we are currently developing classroom resources for schools connecting the collections and the national curriculum. Visits to the gallery are free but please get in touch in advance to make sure that the gallery will be open for your visit time. In some circumstances, we can arrange for visits to the gallery outside of regular visiting hours. If you are a teacher and would like to work with us to develop resources, please get in touch with us by using this form.
