Dr Philip Oliver

Assistant Professor

Department: Newcastle Business School

Before joining, I worked in technical pre-sales for a financial software company, specifically in the outsourcing and Application Service Provider (ASP) area.  This included sales support, client management and project management.  Before that I was in sales and management in IT training and support companies.

I currently teach on modules in these areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate level with the emphasis on teaching students how appropriate systems can be identified and implemented in both large and small businesses.  I also teach on modules that cover entrepreneurship and consultancy, which enhances the student skill set and employability prospects.
