TRAINING
Access, Training, and Support
Sitecore is the Content Management System (CMS) used to manage the University's corporate website. Sitecore is managed by the Digital team, and we also offer support and for Sitecore users across the university.
We currently have over 400 members of staff who manage their own digital web content using Sitecore.
Sitecore Refresher Sessions and Training Clinics
The Digital Team have recently launched a series of in person based Sitecore sessions and clinics.
All courses can be found in the new People and Finance system in the Learning section under Digital Skills.
In Person Clinics:
- Sitecore CMS Users - Sitecore Refresher Sessions
- Sitecore CMS Users - Optimising user experience and reviewing page analytics
How do I get access to Sitecore?
Before you can access Sitecore we ask our staff to complete the Sitecore Fundamentals to ensure that they are confident using the platform to edit content.
Before you carry out the e-learning course, we would ask you to confirm with your manager that they are happy for you to gain access to Sitecore. Once your request has been approved, you should then complete the e-learning course. This will provide you with all the information you need to edit the content on the University website.
You can request access to Sitecore on completion of the course. This will be reviewed by the Digital team who will send across your login details via email.
I need help editing my webpages, what should I do?
Unsure of how to do something in Sitecore? Here is how you can find the help you need:
- If you already have access to Sitecore but would like a refresher on some of the basics, we would also recommend taking the Sitecore Fundamentals e-learning course. This has been created specifically for Northumbria staff offering an introduction to the CMS and basic content editing.
- Contact the Digital Team - If your query is urgent, you can submit a ticket via the Digital Team’s service desk.
The Friday Clinic
If you still need help with with something that Sitecore Fundamentals and the Sitecore Support Hub doesn't cover, fill in the form below and we will get back to you with an allotted time slot to a digital Friday Clinic.
