Study Abroad Processes

At Northumbria we want to ensure that all students have access to the best opportunities available to them during their studies.  Our dedicated International Mobility team support students from their first weeks at Northumbria ensuring all students are aware of the different opportunities to study abroad, whether this be as part of the degree programme and/or taking part in an International Short Programme over the summer after the academic year ends.

Students will be asked to book a one to one with a member of the International Mobility team to really support the decision to study abroad and make sure that they are choosing the best destination for their degree and future career.

The team make the application process as simple as possible.  All students need to do is research the University partners available for their degree programme, submit a motivational statement and a financial statement so the team know they have done their research on the programme and partners available.

Applications to study abroad in 2024/25 have now closed.  There will be a 3rd round of applications in October 2024 for 2nd year Business students wishing to apply to study abroad in Year 2/Semester 2.

Applications are still open for the International Short Programmes for summer 2024 - please refer to the student portal for further information on how to apply.  Log into the student portal, type 'Finding out about the International Short Programme' into the search bar, and the first link will give you full information on available places and how to apply.
