This page can help find the right programme for you. Northumbria students can choose between a 6 week internship or a blended programme that combines remote work with 4 weeks in country.

 

Application deadline:

Monday 12th January at midday.


When: 

September 2025-August 2026 for 6-weeks.

The internship must be completed by 31st August to be eligible for the full funding amount.


Programme dates: 

Start dates are available every month of the year. Students are encouraged to apply 3-6 months in advance of their intended start date in order to secure their spot.

 

Spaces available for this project: 

There are 2 grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria. There is one smaller grant available for students who do not meet any criteria.

Students who are not accepted for funding can still participate in the programme and be covered by the university's insurance

 

Funding available: 

6 week internships:

There are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria:

Living cost grant: £882

Travel grant: up to £250

Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations 

For those who do not meet any of the criteria there is a grant of £714 available.

 

Blended programme:

There are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria:

Living cost grant: £588

Travel grant: up to £250

Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations 

For those who do not meet any of the criteria there is a grant of £476 available.



Programme cost: 

The programme cost is €5,700 for June-July start dates and €5,100 for August-May start dates, including a deposit of £800.

The blended programme costs €4,700
