Volunteer HQ - Spain
Students and recent graduates from all degree programmes are eligible to participate in the following volunteer projects in Barcelona:

- Food Rescue
- Migrant and Refugee Support

- Physical Therapy Internship (Valencia, for degrees in physiotherapy, nursing, occupational therapy and related fields)

Application deadline:
Monday 12th January at midday.
When:
Flexible start dates from September 2025-August 2026 for 28 days
4-week programme must be completed by 31st August 2025 to be eligible for the funding.
Spaces available for this project:
For 4 week programmes, there are 2 grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria. and 1 smaller grant available for a student who does not meet any criteria.
For 2 week programmes, there are 3 grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria. and 3 smaller grant available for a student who does not meet any criteria.
Students who are not accepted for funding can still participate in the programme and be covered by the university's insurance
Funding available:
For 4 week programmes, there are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria:
Living cost grant: £588
Travel grant: up to £250
Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations
For those who do not meet any of the criteria there is a grant of £476 available.
For 2 week programmes, there are three grants available for students who meet any of the widening participation criteria:
Living cost grant: £294
Travel grant: up to £250
Additional costs: up to £40 this supports payment towards buying/renewing a passport, travel insurance and vaccinations
For those who do not meet any of the criteria there is a grant of £238 available.
Programme fee:
The programme cost is from £979 for a 2 week programme or £1699 for a 4 week programme, both with an additional registration fee of $329.
The programme cost for the Physical Therapy internship is $3,533 including a deposit of $499.
What does the programme fee include?
- Accommodation
- Meals (3 per day on the weekdays, 2 per day on the weekends)
- Airport pick-up
- 24/7 in-country support
- Transport to and from their placement each day
- Pre-departure support from your Program Manager
- Access to IVHQ's preferred insurance and flights partners
- Certificate of International Volunteer Service
