The Partnership

The partnership between Northumbria University and BMS has developed over many years with BMS being one of our strategic partners. The relationship between the University of Northumbria Business School and BMS is entering its twelfth year and has produced more than one thousand graduate students. BMS has established a track record in the area of transfer of students to programmes with advanced standing - e.g. BMS Advanced Diploma students can enter level 6 of the following programmes BA (Hons) Business and Management, BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management and Leadership and BA (Hons) Leadership and Management. Within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Biomedical Science students, on successful completion of their Diploma at BMS, can articulate into level 6 of the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science programme at Northumbria University.

It is through the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science programme that the partnership with the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Northumbria University exists. In 2015 approval was given to franchise the final year of the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science programme to BMS. This is the first of a number of planned developments and has involved extensive development of state of the art laboratories at BMS so that students are assured of a high quality learning experience. This development provides students from Sri Lanka with the opportunity to study in their home country, with a considerable reduction in cost when compared to studying abroad.

Opportunities are still available for students to articulate into level 6 of the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science at Northumbria University, should they wish to do so.

The Programme
