Sustainable & Renewable Energy Systems

Our academics carry out research into existing and new energy technologies powered by renewable energy sources, waste energy and fossil fuels. Researchers are committed to improving energy efficiency and reducing both energy demand and environmental pollution. The group research areas include photovoltaics, materials for solar energy conversion, wind power and analysis into the management of electrical smart grids.

This research group has been a core member of EPSRC SUPERGEN and European projects. Key examples of projects include:
