Riz is a tech and commercial lawyer at Square One Law, where he supports start-ups, scale-ups, and established businesses with legal advice on intellectual property, contracts, and commercial risk. Alongside practice Riz provides legal mentoring to student and graduate entrepreneurs at Northumbria University through its fantastic Incubator programme.
His role focuses on helping founders navigate the legal side of starting and growing a business – whether that’s protecting their IP, understanding commercial contracts, or identifying risks before they become problems. Where he aims to provide clear, practical guidance that demystifies legal issues and gives founders the confidence to move forward.
Working with Northumbria’s entrepreneurial community is genuinely rewarding. he enjoys supporting ambitious students and graduates as they turn ideas into businesses or look to scale existing ventures and helping them build strong legal foundations that will support sustainable, long-term growth.
