Please note: Details around Clearing for 2025 applicants are subject to change. Please keep checking our site for up-to-date info.

Please note any information on this page is just for guidance and Clearing entry points and criteria are subject to change throughout the clearing period and exceptions may apply.

Additional Qualifications

Northumbria University accepts a number of additional qualifications which can count towards your UCAS tariff points.*

We recognise the value of a number of different qualifications that our students study, some of which could count towards your UCAS tariff points and ultimately lead to you securing a place with us. Please check your qualifications on the UCAS Tariff Calculator or for a full list, please check the UCAS tariff table.

If you call us to ask about Clearing vacancies, make sure you mention any additional qualifications to our hotline staff. This will help us make a full assessment of your application and might improve your chances of entry.

The table below provides you with some of the more popular additional qualifications, but don't be alarmed if yours isn’t there. There are a range of other qualifications we accept which our call handlers can confirm.

*Sorry, this doesn’t apply to all courses and some qualifications will not be counted.

If none of the Level 3 qualifications you are studying carry tariff points, we may still consider an application from you.
