Teachers act with honesty and integrity; have strong subject knowledge, keep their knowledge and skills as teachers up-to-date and are self-critical; forge positive professional relationships; and work with parents in the best interests of their pupils.’ (Preamble: Teachers’ Standards, Department for Education, 2012) These are the standards that note the minimum requirements for teachers. They became effective from 1 September 2012 and can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/teachers-standards Please familiarise yourself with this document, as these are the standards that you will be subject to in order for the assessment of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We will be looking to consider your potential to achieve these standards as part of your interview.
