On Saturday 5 May 2018 Northumbria University Alumni Association, in conjunction with Northumbria Sport, held the second annual Northumbria Sport Legacy Cup. The event saw current Team Northumbria sports teams take on alumni teams to go head-to-head for the prestigious cup at Coach Lane High Performance Centre.
The competition was part of the Northumbria Sport Weekender which began on the afternoon of Friday 4 May 2018 with the launch of the Sport President Association, and closed on the Sunday evening with the ever popular Student Sports Ball. The Legacy Cup followed on from the successes of last year's competition with there being a number of other fun activities and challenges taking place throughout the day and ending with a celebratory BBQ.
The alumni team were victorious winning the overall competition 7-5 and the coveted Legacy Cup, the individual match results are as below:
