A Fond Farewell for Northumbria Law School Academic

Students and alumni turned up in force just before Christmas to give Northumbria Law School academic Jo Clough a rousing send off as she heads for a new teaching role at the University of Ulster.

Senior lecturer Jo, who is also a practising solicitor-advocate, was celebrating with her Student Law Office firm at Lau’s Buffet restaurant,  before moving on to Jesmond’s popular  Mr Lynch bar where they were joined by a host of alumni.

Jo said: “After 10 years in the Student Law Office it was wonderful to catch up with so many old acquaintances, and to see former and current students mingling and making all sorts of job and work experience offers. I have been supervising students in the Student Law Office since joining the University in 2007.  I will be taking my experience in clinical legal education to Ulster University, to supervise students within the Ulster Law Clinic, which hosts an award winning LLM in Clinical Legal Education.  While I am sad to be leaving Northumbria University, I am looking forward to developing the clinic at Ulster University along with the team there.”

Northumbria prides itself on maintaining strong links and relationship with alumni. Graduates of Northumbria University and any of our constituent colleges can join the Northumbria University Alumni Association for free.
