Student Specific Internship Scheme

Through University Funding we can part-fund (75%) an eligible business to employ a Northumbria student for up to 130 hours. These hours can be used over a period up to 30 June 2021 – as agreed between the intern, the University and the employer. This funding can be accessed by small and medium sized employers and larger organisations, including those in the public sector.

The aim of the Programme is to support employers with their activities while increasing the employability of Northumbria University students with little or no work experience by providing them with work experience opportunities that will enable the development and utilisation of skills they are learning in their study.

We are keen to secure internships for students on Psychology and Film and TV Production programmes (undergraduate or Foundation Year). The type of duties that we may fund are quite broad ranging for each subject. This means there is great flexibility in the kinds of roles that Interns can carry out and the sectors who will benefit, but noting any student wishing to count their Internship towards credit on their course will be unable to do so.”

Interested employers should contact sv.employers@northumbria.ac.uk in the first instance.
