Working for Northumbria University.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

I studied at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level at Northumbria. Originally, the closeness to my home town was a big reason to come here. After that, I did not really want to go anywhere else. Northumbria University really gives you a reason to want to study there, and outside of studying, the social side is great.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

It was a mix of lectures, seminars and private study. Although not all as beneficial in the extent to knowledge gained and experience developed, it all served a purpose.

How connected was your course with industry?

The course was not specifically linked to the industry, given the nature of my course. However, there were guest lecturers from the major services concerned with crime and society.

What was the best thing about your course?

Developing critical examination of new and emerging concepts, and tearing apart historically incorrect preconceptions regarding criminality.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

It has certainly allowed me to have a better insight into my current role.

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

Critical Examination, Academic Discourse, and Project Leadership.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

The social side of life at Northumbria really is excellent, and I have many memories which will not soon be forgotten.

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

Do it. Don't think about anywhere else. Northumbria really has it all, and develops well-rounded individuals, who can adapt well to a variety of circumstances.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Knowledgeable, Work, Fun.
